Gabber

Gabber is a subgenre of hardcore techno, known for its aggressive, distorted, and fast-paced beats that typically clock in at BPMs ranging from 160 to 200+. Characterized by a loud and pounding kick drum, gabber often incorporates distorted basslines and synthesized melodies that build intense atmospheres. Vocals, when present, are usually samples that add to the genre's edgy and dark tone. The genre emerged in the early 1990s in the Netherlands, becoming the soundtrack to raves and underground parties. The high-energy, relentless rhythm and almost industrial sound make it a favorite among hardcore electronic music enthusiasts. While the genre has evolved, incorporating elements of industrial, hardstyle, and even breakbeat, it has always maintained its core of hard-hitting, pulse-quickening intensity, as evidenced in the works of artists such as The Melodyst and Unexist.
